Your spirit craves the intimate connection to self. Your soul deserves to learn from the people among us, yourself, and the serene world around. Invite the universe to be the playground for your life. Encouraging you to take risks, exploring differences and taking challenges as opportunities to grow, develop, and flourish. Feeding your soul starts with being able to understand your thoughts, needs and desires. Along with recognizing when you’re being neglectful to your own self, finding courage to reinforce the boundaries you have and holding yourself accountable. Giving the push you may need to keep yourself healthy mentally, physically and emotionally. A way to make the lows more tolerable.
Often times depression, anxiety, and other stresses can take what we know and throw it out the window. There have been plenty of days I couldn’t bring myself out of bed to brush my teeth, feed myself or wake up and I am working on being able to respect those downs; Build strength and discipline to make less of those days. My friend, it is okay to have these moments! I really believe it’s so much harder to get out of a slope when I haven’t even accepted I’m in a rough spot mentally. When there isn’t that acceptance and acknowledgment you can often times go further into a depression. You feel more ashamed making it harder to love and care for yourself. Let yourself know that this is temporary and whatever you’re feeling is valid. You’re creating a safe space to be however you need to be in this moment. Be alone, cry, play a song that expresses your emotions in those moments and let yourself go, embracing every sensation bottled up inside of your being.
Truthfully when I can’t even bear the thought of moving, just to light a candle and going back to barely holding on helps. It can make you feel less ashamed, accomplished, more relaxed and for a split second engaged in something other than your initial focus. I want you to imagine for a moment what song, smell or even memory could help you through a hard time. Use that as a tool to help ease your anxieties or help you breathe and accept where you are. I have a Free Mantra guide I’ve used in “How Can I Overcome Negative Self-Talk” I really do think it can help you understand it more deeply with finding the right way to tend to self. The goal is to not find ways to ignore these emotions but to create a safe space to reflect on them and find acceptance.
In a world that’s constantly buzzing with noise and distraction, finding moments of stillness and peace can feel like a rare luxury. Whether it’s through meditation, prayer, or connecting with your own spiritual beliefs, taking time to center yourself can bring a sense of calm and clarity to your soul. So light a candle, take a deep breath, and let the quiet whispers of your spirit guide you to a place of inner harmony. Open a window and write in your journal. Read a book and slip into a world that only exists in the mind. If you want to workout but have trouble being consistent start off smaller, making a goal for once or twice a week. Call a friend or relative. I love to take walks and find objects that resembles love and happiness. Rather that’s a leaf in a shape of a heart or a spray painted smiley face. This is about fueling your soul to find peace and fulfillment. As always be patient and kind to yourself. Be gentle and tending towards your goals, desires, highs and lows. Respect if you simply can’t today but encourage yourself to validate all that’s in your mind. Practice gratitude, self respect and accountability daily to become more intuned with your own self.
